“CID Highlight” – Da Bomb (Bomboloni): CID rating 4 out of 5
Homemade deep‐fried brioche, dusted with cinnamon and sugar, and filled with vanilla cream. Da Bomb is a latest addition to my list of things to indulge in twice a year. It would take a six month craving for me to pay $5 for just three of these soft, moist pockets of cream.

Is that Mr Softee? No wait it’s another kind of sweet treat. I love the truck. It’s cost effective, makes your business mobile and just overall fun. Growing up in Corona, Queens, all the kids used to run out to the street every time we hear the tune playing even when the Mr Softee truck was blocks away. This is reminiscent of those days without the mind-numbing tune.

A spin on the classic chocolate custard dessert, topped with vanilla crème anglaise. I ordered bread pudding from Tribeca Grill last year during restaurant week and on several occasions at other fine establishments. It was missing something to balance off the gooey texture. The portion size was not worth $5. Maybe if you throw in a cookie, waffer, or…
the phantom was in nyc and went to the dessert truck, two nice students were working there. i asked for those bombolonis and they were gone! off the menu, those devils, keeping it for themselves cuz it’s that good. they did promise an ice cream puff next time.
The dessert was pretty good, and the whole swanky cart food idea is pretty cool too.
